Dr. Miyon Young is a pediatric dentist. From an early age, she had a desire to be a dentist. With this in mind, she obtained her B.S. in Biochemistry at UC Davis and her DDS from UC San Francisco. While in private practice, Dr. Young found that she enjoyed dentistry most when she was treating children. Their fresh outlook on life was energizing. This motivated her to complete her residency in Pediatric Dentistry. She loves direct patient care. Dr. Young lives in San Mateo with two children of her own. They help her understand on a deeper level not only her pediatric patients but patients’ parents as well. Her children have taught her how hard it can be to brush their teeth regularly after a long day, and how it can eventually be achieved. While volunteering at her children’s school, Dr. Young has learned that there are lot of children in need of dental care and has developed a passion for public health.

Mira Yang RDH
Mira Yang was born and raised in Korea. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated from Carrington College and continued her education at University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni for Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice. Mira has been clinically practicing for over 13 years. In 2016, she began working in public health, providing preventative dental services to children. The majority of the children that Mira has encountered over the years have had active dental disease, including some with active oral abscesses. Mira has a strong passion for public health especially for those in vulnerable populations. She believes that through oral health education and preventative dental services, fewer children will miss school days due to dental disease and therefore achieve better education outcomes. Mira is also a strong advocate for register dental hygienists in public health settings, especially in schools. Having a registered dental hygienist in school or community-based settings increases the number of preventative dental services provided and decreases the number of children with dental disease.
